Who We Are

Washington Township Ambulance and Rescue Association, has been providing the residence of Washington Township emergency medical services since our inception in 1956.

 The Washington Township Ambulance and Rescue Association has been providing medical services to our community and surrounding areas for over 60 years. We are one of the busiest Emergency Medical Service providers in southern New Jersey. In 2017 we handled over 6100 EMS calls, and just under 6000 in 2020. Our fleet consists of 5 Ambulances, a Mass Casualty Incident response trailer and 2 supervisors vehicles. We are staffed with over 40 EMT's ready to serve our community.

Washington Township Ambulance and Rescue Assn. Does provide  a ride along program available to any person interested in attending EMT school, or are in EMT school who wish to get hands on experience. The program does have requirements prior to riding with our agency:

1. You must be at least 17 years of age with a consent form signed by a parent or legal guardian if you are a minor.

2. Maximum amount of ride along shift is 4 shifts with our agency.

3. Uniform is black or blue pants , plain white or black tee and either boots or sneakers. 

4. Ride along shifts start at 8am and end between 12pm and 6pm.

You will be riding with one of our crews and observing patient interaction and care, you will not be performing any patient care.
